F8, facebook's developer conference, happened this past week with lots for the AR community to be excited about. To give you an idea how high AR | VR was on the agenda- those lucky enough to attend got a free Samsung Gear VR and Galaxy S6 which, signals "you better get on this."

VR is a Priority. Will be just like glasses
Mark Zuckerberg made it clear thatvirtual reality and augmented reality were the priority technologies they will develop. The full 10 year roadmap can be found here. In his visionary talk, he described how he saw AR being something very seamless in our lives and as mainstream as glasses. In fact, he thinks they will look just like them, and won't look far from Google Glass, maybe just with timing on his side.

Maybe there can even be a retina scanner that can read our minds and pull up info on people our subconscious is trying to stalk. People can't even catch us stalking cause the display would only be visible to our own eyes. Wouldn't that be cool? (That's supposed to be sarcastic so I don't sound like a total nut job, but tbh, for me, that feature would be ON for sure).

They even have their own camera
He also unveiled the very cool looking (like an octopus) 360 degree camera Facebook has made, appropriately named Surround 360. Full specs can be found here. But the gist of it includes thing 16 camera lenses and 8K resolution. Sounds like that can capture everything.
