tl;dr - the VR Archery Club is fun to play but may not be a lifer on your phone. Great for killing a few minutes!

Game Details:
VR Archery Master 3D: Shooting Games
4.5 stars (37 reviews, app store)

If you've ever tried archery for fun, it's exactly that, fun. In my app review this week, I thought I'd give a game a try since I haven't done that yet, so when I came across archery in VR I thought I'd give it a shot.

The App Works So-So in VR (Cardboard)
Being the click happy person I am, I pressed the VR option and got right into it. The bow wasn't firing. I turned my iPhone upside down and then it started firing, but the bow was upside down (?). After some intense shaking and moving my phone around, the problem was resolved. (Again, ?). The bow wasn't really going where the pin was so it was somewhat frustrating. Btw, before downloading it said it would work with cardboard.

But is Better Just Playing it Regularly
I tried the app without VR and similarly, it was not that easy to use, but after a few practice shots you get the hang of it. I suppose that makes it more realistic because nothing is easy in life at first!

I have to give it to the developers, the graphics are done well and it does feel like you're shooting an arrow (as best as you can with a phone), but it I don't imagine it to be the kind of game (like Bejeweled, 2048, Temple Run, etc) that I can sit and play for hours.

What Now?
It was a fun 3 minutes, really it was! Sadly like most VR apps and game apps, they eventually reach their storage max and eventual RIP.

Also, the app is free but has ads. Lots of them. After completing a level, you get an ad disguised (actually no, it's not even disguised, it's a bouncing box that says "gift" twice and also says "ad"). May not bother some people, for some it might be annoying.

In the case that you do get really into this, there are upgraded bow and arrows that you can buy, which is pretty neat.

Anyone have any game suggestions? Have you actually kept any VR games on your phone?
